1. Who we are
Grabnode is a free web app and browser extension for downloading publicly available videos. You can reach us at privacy@grabnode.app.
2. What we collect
- URLs you submit — proxied to our extractor to resolve download links. We do not store the video content itself.
- Basic request metadata — IP address, user agent, timestamp — used for rate limiting and abuse prevention, then rotated out of hot logs within 30 days.
- Local settings — your language preference is stored in your browser's
localStorage. It never leaves your device.
What we do NOT collect
- Names, emails or passwords (there are no accounts).
- Payment information (donations go through Ko-fi / BuyMeACoffee under their own privacy policies).
- Content of videos, thumbnails or metadata beyond what's needed to display the download result to you.
3. Cookies & analytics
Grabnode uses a small amount of privacy-friendly analytics to measure page views and downloader success rates. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising and we do not sell data to third parties.
4. Third-party services
- Source platforms — download links point directly to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X or Threads servers; those requests are subject to their own privacy policies.
- Extraction provider — we forward your submitted URL to a third-party media-extraction API. Only the URL is sent, no personal identifiers.
- Hosting — the website runs on Lovable Cloud infrastructure.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because we don't hold accounts, the practical scope is limited — email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
6. Children
Grabnode is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "last updated" date.
